Abstract
This chapter provides an overview of the electrochemical growth of magnetic nanotubes (NTs) using template-assisted fabrication methods. In the first part, we introduce the basic concepts of the electrochemical synthesis of magnetic materials of variable shapes (thin films, nanowires, nanoparticles, and NTs) and compositions (single element, alloys, multisegmented). We then present the nanoporous templates mostly used for the growth of nanostructured arrays, namely polycarbonate and alumina membranes.
