Forrest M. Mims III is a scientist, inventor, and researcher. He has written for such publications as Scientific American, Nature, and Science, and his books have sold more than 7.5 million copies. In 1993, Forrest earned a Rolex Award, given to those whose endeavors have made a significant contribution to improving life and protecting the planet. He also served as a consultant to NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, National Geographic Society, and National Science Teachers Association. Forrest lives in Seguin, Texas, with his wife Minnie.
