11 THE SILICON FARMHOUSE
In 1985, we moved from San Marcos to a rural place of nearly 10 acres on Geronimo Creek, near Seguin, Texas. The new homestead fulfilled a dream of living on a wooded site next to a permanent creek. A century-old farmhouse adjacent to our new home provided more space to work than the Silicon Garage. It became the Silicon Farmhouse. An adjacent 1.5-acre field I call the Geronimo Creek Observatory (GCO) provided wildflowers and space for outdoor experiments. In 1986, daughter Sarah arrived. Eric and Vicki were both born in Albuquerque, and Sarah became our first Texas child.
