When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
HOW DOES PUPPER TALK WITH YOU?
Pupper uses OpenAI’s Realtime API,
which lets you talk with LLMs like
GPT-4o with little latency, so you can
converse and interact with Pupper in
real time. Ask Pupper to show you a
dance move, and in less than a second
it will respond, maybe speaking a short
woof and then spinning in a circle while
hopping on three feet.
To speak to you, Pupper has a
small 3W speaker behind the camera
connected to the Raspberry Pi. We tried
integrating a microphone array directly
on the robot, but Pupper’s motor noises
drowned people’s voices. So instead we
use an inexpensive wireless lapel mic
with a USB receiver dongle that ...
