When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
PROJECTS: Fiber Optic Faux Nixie
Carve the pieces as follows:
• Acrylic-Digits.svg: Carve from 3mm clear
acrylic sheet.
TIP: Making two passes on the fiber optic
strand holes helps clear the holes from tiny
strands of acrylic that will be left behind and
block the holes if only one pass is made.
• Acrylic-Light Grid.svg: Carve 3mm black or
clear acrylic sheet. Black will block more light
from the base and create a clearer digit, but
clear may be used as well.
• Wood-Top.svg, Wood-Bottom.svg, and Wood-
Sides.svg: Carve 1 each of these out of 3mm
basswood. You may also choose to design your
own housing, in which case, use the Wood-Top
design ...
