3.2.1 nitRo enolates and nitRile enolates
Certain amine surrogates can add to conjugated carbonyl systems if that surrogate
can be converted to a carbanionic species, typically an enolate anion. Addition
of these species to conjugated acid derivatives will give an amino acid, but a sec-
ond reaction is required to convert the surrogate to the amino group. This section
