This chapter presented the core, fundamental concepts for building applications that work with Windows Workflow Foundation. These included the components of all workflow applications: client, host, and workflow. A client is any application that calls into a host to work with a workflow instance. A workflow is a set of steps that solve a business problem. Your workflow is compiled and hosted inside a host application. The host application manages calls between the client and the workflow runtime.
We also covered the workflow designer and the many activities. This included all the built-in activities used for creating workflows as well as how to create your own, custom activities.
We hope this chapter serves as the foundation for you ...
