Creating a Silverlight Application

It’s important to note that there are multiple ways you can leverage Silverlight. You can create a Silverlight application that runs self-contained in the browser. Alternatively, you can create a web page that embeds Silverlight as part of the page. This might be for video or to use a Silverlight control. You can also create an application that runs on the computer (without the need for a browser). This type of functionality opens up access outside of the Silverlight sandbox and is a major feature of the upcoming, 4.0 release.
