In this chapter I will define NLP based on the definitions which I derived from the work of leading NLP developers and creators. There is no fixed definition of NLP as the field holds many different meanings for many different people. Nevertheless, we need a definition that holds true to the originator’s intentions and in this chapter, I will offer such a construction. I will briefly survey the historical roots of NLP to provide you with a sense of accessibility to its development as a field of change practice.
