Hosting is a parade of jobs including hosting parades. The skills needed as a television host are pretty much the same no matter what the hosting job, but the job can vary from announcing a hot-air balloon named Kermit to announcing a hottie in a bathing suit.
Talk show hosts are usually in a studio, either seated in a living-room-type set or standing in the audience. They can be Oprah on a couch, a serious news host at a desk, or an afternoon syndicated show host who urges on some outrageous interview, often with audience participation. They can be late-night comics or Sunday morning preachers. And on cable, the music outlets like MTV and VH1 produce programs that require hosts for awards programs, pageants, and major music productions. ...
