On-camera reporting is the art of gathering a set of facts about a situation, then marshaling those facts into an understandable report, and finally presenting that report so people watch it, listen to it and, of course, understand it.

Many of my students ask me, “How is on-camera reporting different from other reporting, say for newspapers?” The answer is this: the reporting, the basic journalism, is no different.
