Transformative Collaboration
Transformative collaboration events are interventions that energize the organization collectively to find positive ways forward to positive ends. They create opportunities for people to talk and work together about the things that matter. These events are based on an understanding of many of the ideas we have explored in this book. For example, they create: a sense of wellbeing or positive affect as people concentrate on discovering the best of the organization; energy and solidarity as people discover common ground; purpose and meaning as people explore what they want to achieve; positive decision-making and communication as people make decisions together about what is important and meaningful in their work; and they start to evolve towards a more positive workplace culture by the way they work together. They have their beneficial effects on the organization by effecting change in the processes of organizational life that are so prevalent that we barely notice them: the patterns of organizational life.
