DDoS attack is one of the top security concerns when you host your application on a public cloud. The gaming industry is mostly abused by DDoS. Since the responsibility of the public cloud is shared, service provider offers basic DDoS protection services free of cost and with customized services by profiling services, altering traffic patterns and providing a telemetry monitoring view. 

When writing this chapter, Azure DDoS protection standard is in preview.Azure provides basic and standard DDoS protection, which AWS has named the standard and advanced DDoS protection shield.
