Step 4.5 Identify and resolve issues
At the start of a project you should have very few issues. If there are any, they should have been documented as problems in your Project Definition. However, issues will arise as the project progresses. Unforeseen problems have a habit of occurring; in fact one of the most important tasks of a project manager is in ensuring such problems are resolved. Success in a project is not about having no problems – it is about delivering in spite of them! What differentiates really good project managers from average ones is the ability to overcome problems rather than accepting them as facts of life.
