So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
40.4 The Interactive Python Shell: IPython
The open-source IPython project is developing an alternative Python shell that offers several advantages over the classic interactive mode. Apart from a wealth of helpful tools that facilitate interactive work with Python, the concept of IPython separates the shell from the underlying Python interpreter. This separation makes interesting applications possible, such as architecture for interactive parallel computing in Python (we won’t cover that here, however).
40.4.1 Installation
For users of the Anaconda Python distribution, IPython is already preinstalled, or it can be postinstalled if required using conda, as follows:
$ conda install ipython
