42.2    Installing Django

In this section, we’ll describe the installation of the django module, which is needed to develop Django applications. To learn how to make ready-made applications available to the public on a web server, see the Django documentation at http://www.djangoproject. com or contact your hosting service.

Django is in active development and is constantly being improved and extended. At the time of this book's printing, version 5.2 of Django is included in the Anaconda distribution, which we refer to in the context of this chapter.

The Anaconda Python distribution provides a package for Django that you can install using conda, as described in Chapter 38, Section 38.4.2:[ 222 ]
