Live concert recording has its own built-in challenges. There is never an opportunity to ask the conductor to start the concert over once they have walked out on stage and launched the orchestra into the first piece on the program. Input levels, the amount of reverberation and overall timbre will probably differ between the dress rehearsal in an empty hall, and the concert with a full audience and an orchestra that is playing with more energy and focus than in the morning run-through.
