This second edition of Recording Orchestra comes into print around seven years after the first run. During that time there have been many changes in the industry and to the technology used; however, many elements remain the same, such as the microphone types used and the techniques behind their careful placement during the recording process. Additional material in this printing includes several new chapters on topics that I had decided not to include in the first edition: specifically, those on classical crossover projects and film score recording, immersive/3D recording and mixing, along with two chapters of case studies drawn from actual recording sessions.
