So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 24Mixing
This rather in-depth chapter places emphasis on mixing approaches and techniques, as well as tips for saving time during the mixing stage of a project. In live mixing, many techniques are the same as those for mixing after a multitrack edit has been completed – and certain concepts are identical. Use of artificial reverberation is an important part of this chapter, and the use of automated mixing, equalization and dynamic compression in classical music is also discussed. Additionally, mixing to picture is covered, and the practice of matching the audio perspective to the visual image is explained.
