Wind symphony is a large ensemble made up of woodwind and brass instruments, along with timpani, various percussion elements and normally one string bass. Harp, piano and celeste may be included, depending on the repertoire to be performed. Brass bands, in the British tradition, are made up of all brass instruments plus timpani and percussion and occasionally harp, piano and celeste.
