Troubleshooting XFree86
One of the best sources for troubleshooting installation or other problems when using XFree86's X11 is the XFree86 FAQ, which is found at http://www.xfree86.org. The FAQ contains seven sections and covers difficulties such as
Configuration problems
Keyboard and mouse problems
Display problems
Problems using fonts
Problems using configurations using symbolic links
Chipset support fixes
Other known problems
