So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Troubleshooting XFree86
One of the best sources for troubleshooting installation or other problems when using XFree86's X11 is the XFree86 FAQ, which is found at http://www.xfree86.org. The FAQ contains seven sections and covers difficulties such as
Configuration problems

Problems using fonts
Problems using configurations using symbolic links

Other known problems

If you cannot find the answer you need in the X manual pages, the FAQ, or other documentation, try lurking for a while on the comp.os.linux.x Usenet newsgroup. You can post a question, clearly stating your distribution and version of Linux, along with the version of XFree86 you've installed.
