How it works...

Firstly, we performed a measurement of the baseline latency, including the system intrinsic latency and the network round-trip latency. The system intrinsic latency is a baseline by which we can determine the degree of latency for the system (not including the Redis instance latency). For the network latency, we started testing the client application's host to simulate the network conditions.

In our example, we have 0.26 (0.03+0.23) ms latency as a baseline.

Later, we collected the latency metrics by redis-cli into a log. The result shows the min, max, and average latency, as well as the detection sequences of your Redis to respond to the PING command. You can index the content of the log into Elasticsearch for further analysis ...
