I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How to do it...
The steps for exploring RDB are as follows:
- Set a string key-value pair:
127.0.0.1:6379> SET key value OK
- Set a list key-value pair:
127.0.0.1:6379> LPUSH listkey v1 v2 (integer) 2
- Set a hash key-value pair:
127.0.0.1:6379> HSET hashkey k1 v1 k2 v2 (integer) 2
- Set a set key-value pair:
127.0.0.1:6379> SADD setkey v1 v2 (integer) 2
- Set a sorted set key-value pair:
127.0.0.1:6379> ZADD zset 1 v1 2 v2 (integer) 2
- To trigger RDB dumping, call the command SAVE in redis-cli:
127.0.0.1:6379> SAVE OK
- Open the dump.rdb file we just generated, with bvi editor:
$ bvi dump.rdb
