Foreword

The rationale for this book is based on a hard fact of life that for every successful innovation, there are ten failures. However, a quick trawl through the innovation literature would probably leave you thinking that innovation was all about finding the secrets of success, the common ‘magic bullets’ that characterize successful innovations. Small wonder then that many readers, like myself, are left wondering how can they learn from these success factors, how would they apply to me? The problem is that we learn more from mistakes and errors than we ever can from success. This might be why so many of the ‘magic bullets’ in the literature seem so difficult to apply and leave a sense of dissatisfaction.
