Part III Factors for Success

Innovation cannot be done in splendid isolation but needs support from and interaction with a diverse range of parties. Understanding the innovation arena and the actors is one of the requirements for success. Part III describes some of these factors, both the internal ones for which there is a degree of strategic choice and the external factors that are part of the innovation environment. Factors for success are favorable, supportive circumstances and can be instruments, conditions, agents, or platforms. However, the factors for success are not only positive influences; they can have negative side effects as well. Part III describes the two sides of the Key Success Factors (KSFs).
