Use "hidden" Keyboard Options
In certain cases, if you press and hold a key on the virtual keyboard, you get a special response from the iPhone:
Use international diacritical marks: Even with the iPhone's standard English keyboards, you can use international (that is, non-English) characters, such as é or ñ. Just press and hold the letter to which you want to add a diacritical mark. After a second or so, a pop-up strip appears, listing all supported variants of that letter. Slide your finger to the variant you want and let go. If no strip appears, there are no supported variants for that letter.
