We all know that Britain is facing an
acute housing crisis. We are not building
enough new homes, and too many of
those that are being built are simply not
aordable to those in need. But simply
increasing the output and improving the
aordability of new homes is not enough.
We have in the past, too often, allowed
quality to be subordinated to quantity
and we have not always given sucient
attention to place-making – creating
communities where people can thrive
and feel good about their surroundings.
