I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
17 Motion Graphics + Overlays
Motion graphics are animations that are less about representational drawings and more about shapes, letters, colors, lighting effects—all the things that communicate a feeling or idea more than a narrative story. Technically all animation is motion graphics, in the way “graphic novels” are typically just a comic with more pretensions piled on to it. Places you would find motion graphics include:
- • Title sequences of movies and TV shows (and in some cases, the end credits)
- • Advertising
- • On-screen effects like lower third captioning on news networks
- • Event promos
- • On-stage visuals for musicians and DJs
- • Websites, apps, and interactive works
- • Data presentations for training videos, education, and documentaries ...
