Right Brain, Left Brain, and Right Brain Again

There are two basic ways we can talk about our deeply held beliefs. One way is to engage in a genuine, good-faith discussion in which we start with an open mind and pursue the truth. We put forth our perspectives about a subject, and we pay attention to the other perspectives presented in case we’ve missed something. In such a conversation, it’s unlikely for any opinion to remain the same—more often than not, the mere act of engaging an outside perspective helps give dimension to a problem in a manner that our single perspective simply can’t.
