MENTORING CAN HAPPEN ANY TIME AND ANY PLACE
My colleague Lory Fischler tells the following story about her mentor and tennis coach Ed. It is a great example of how mentoring can happen at any time and any place. Here is the story of Ed in Loryâs own words:
I had been playing tennis most of my life and at the age of forty was on a tennis team. We played in USTA sponsored tournaments and met weekly to practice. One day during practice we saw another team on the courts who looked like they were having a blast. We thought, âHey, weâd like to do it that way.â So, we hired their coach and thus began my relationship with Ed, tennis coach and mentor.
