Sample 100-Day Plans
When working with clients or interacting with our readers we are often asked for sample 100-day action plans. We usually don't provide sample plans because (1) every situation is different and (2) we have found that it often zaps some of the creativity and thinking that is required to come up with a comprehensive plan. Action items in samples somehow often seem to be great ideas for someone who is starting to develop their 100-day plan when in actuality they may not be as good of a fit as they initially seem. So, use these as a guideline, but realize that yours should look different, because every situation is different. Also these plans are summaries, so behind each pithy line item there lays detail, planning, and analysis. Finally, we suggest that you at least complete a first draft of your plan before you peruse the samples below. The last thing we would want to do is stifle your analysis or creativity with sample plans! We have included plans for three scenarios: (1) transitioning into a new company, (2) promoted from within, and (3) an international move.
