It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
13 How to lead innovation talent
You can have the best innovation talent in the world, but if you do not lead it well, it will never deliver a talent advantage. Leading innovation talent well means putting a good governance system in place. The governance system identifies who calls the shots and on what criteria innovation decisions are based. Your innovation talent also needs feedback. As Roberto Goizueta, former CEO of Coca-Cola and one of the best CEO’s of all times, used to say: ‘Communication is the only task a leader cannot delegate.’1 We will meet Roberto at the end of this chapter, but let’s first explore ‘who calls the shots’…
