24 My personal journey
I was always into sports when I was young. However, at the age of 17, I was injured pretty badly in a game of football which ultimately required patella surgery and which took me six months to recover from. After taking up sports again and making it back into the line-up for my football team, I broke my ankle. And then, after a new recovery and return, I tore the ligaments of my other ankle. Having turned 19 at the time, I became caught up in university life and became sedentary. Sedentary life went hand in hand with an excessive focus on food, which turned my old weight of around 80 kg into 110 kg.
