Introduction

Competitiveness and profitability—is anything more important to a business? Competition is more aggressive than ever in today’s flat world.1 It is being defined more as value chain versus value chain than company versus company. If Company A designs its value chain better than Company B, then Company A’s chances of delivering on the value dimensions that customers demand increase.
