To keep it simple, the golden mean is a mathematical formula that creates aesthetically pleasing photos. We have a few golden mean–inspired compositions to choose from: the golden ratio, golden spiral, and golden triangle.
The golden ratio is basically just a tighter rule of thirds. To use it, follow the same premise as the rule of thirds: line up your subjects along the intersecting points.
I took this shot exactly how I found it. I turned a corner and found the teddy bear like this. He was so big that I thought it was a person. “Startled” is an understatement.
