How high is my tripod? Which side should I shoot this from? How is the light falling on it? These are three things you need to ask yourself after you decide on something you want to shoot. The key is to experiment. Don’t waste your time taking pictures at all heights and sides. Walk around your subject with a discerning eye. Imagine what your photo would look like while crouching down or standing on something. After you practice using a discerning eye, one day you’ll have that “aha!” moment and you’ll be able to visualize exactly how you want to frame your subject.
