Exterior Shots

Some urban explorers are wary of taking exterior shots because they don’t want to give away the location of the abandonment to taggers and scrappers. I think it’s generally very difficult to find abandoned buildings based upon their exterior appearance alone, so I don’t shy away from shooting exteriors. However, I do like spending most of my time on the interiors and I generally only get an exterior shot if the lighting is right. That’s my personal preference, but if you’re shooting as a documentarian, I say, “Go for it!”
