So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Adding hosts to a vSphere Distributed Switch
Once a VDS has been created, we now have to add the ESXi hosts to the VDS so that it's physical NIC can be mapped.
How to do it...
The following procedure explains how to attach ESXi hosts to a VDS:
- Connect to the vCenter Server using the vSphere Web Client and use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + 6 to go to the Network Inventory view.
- Right-click on the VDS to which you want to add the hosts to, and click on the Add and Manage Hosts menu item as demonstrated in the following screenshot:
- In the Add and Manage Hosts wizard, select Add hosts and click on Next to continue.
- On the next screen, click on New hosts ...
