It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Creating a backup of a VDS
You can export the configuration of a vSphere Distributed Switch to maintain a backup.
How to do it...
The following procedure explains how to export the VDS configuration:
- Right-click on the VDS and navigate to All vCenter Actions | Export Configuration to bring up the Export Configuration dialog box.
- Select the configuration to export. You can choose between exporting Distributed switch and all port groups or Distributed switch only. Supply an optional description if needed and click on OK to export the configuration, as demonstrated in the following screenshot:
