It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Configuring a VM to override host monitoring and VM monitoring settings
It is possible to configure a virtual machine to override the host monitoring and VM monitoring settings. The settings are overridden by creating VM overrides.
The settings that can be overridden are as follows:
- VM restart priority
- Host isolation response
- VM monitoring and monitoring sensitivity
How to do it...
The following procedure explains how to configure VM(s) to override HA cluster settings:
- From the vCenter's Home inventory, navigate to the Hosts and Clusters view.
- Select the cluster and navigate to Manage | Settings | VM Overrides.
- On the VM Overrides page, click on the Add button to bring up the Add VM Overrides window as demonstrated in the following screenshot:
