Introduction to Object Persistence

We have seen what it is for an object to have state and we have often referred to it informally as its memory.

However, the state of say a session object, would last the duration of a session. The state of an application would last until it is quit, so that the next time the application is started the state of the application object returns to its initial settings.

NOTE

Typically the state of all objects in an application is lost when the application process has terminated.
