take into account a host value of zero and a host value of all 1s that has
special subnet meanings.
Note also in Table3.5 that any address with all 0s in the network
portion is used to represent “this” network. Also note that an old form
of broadcasting known as the all 0s takes the form of 0.0.0.0. You
should not use this old broadcasting address because it is now used in
a routing table to indicate a default route.
Finally, note that an address prefix of 127 represents an inter-
nal host loopback address and cannot be assigned to any host as a
