It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Installing Microsoft Routing and RAS
Installing RRAS is a multi-step process. After preparing your server, you install the RRAS distribution file, which creates a setup folder. You then run setup to install the RRAS service and complete the initial configuration. The remainder of this section details each of these steps.
Preparing for Installation
Microsoft Routing and RAS can be installed only on a computer that is running Windows NT Server 4.0 with Service Pack 3 or later. According to Microsoft, RRAS has no special requirements beyond those of Windows NT Server 4.0 itself, other than 40 MB of free disk space on the volume where RRAS is to be installed.
To prepare your server for installing RRAS, take the following steps:
If Remote Access Service or any Multiprotocol Routing (MPR) services are installed, remove them. MPR services include RIP for Internet Protocol, RIP for NwLink IPX/SPX compatible transport, and the DHCP Relay Agent. To remove a Windows NT Service, display the Network dialog from Control Panel or by right-clicking the Network Neighborhood icon on the desktop and choosing Properties. From the Network dialog, click the Services tab, select the service to be removed, and click Remove. If you omit this step, RRAS setup will detect the installed services and prompt you to remove them before proceeding.

Removing the Remote Access Service or an MPR service deletes its current configuration.
