Chapter 1, Defining IoT Analytics and Challenges, defines, for the purposes of this book, what constitutes the Internet of Things. It will also define what is meant by the term Analytics when used in the book. The chapter will discuss special challenges that come with IoT data from the volume of data to issues with time and space that are not normally a concern with internal company data sets.
