Your VPC architecture
The following diagram shows the network structure of the VPC we will be creating through the AWS quick start template. There are two sets of public subnets, private subnets, NATs, and bastion hosts. Each set is located in a different AZ. This provides high availability. In the event that one AZ is down, you can still get work done using the other one.
The quick start will create and configure route tables and security groups for you. It will create and attach an internet gateway that allows traffic to the public internet. The following image shows the architecture for the VPC:
