It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

INTRODUCTION TO SECTION I
To analyze social media systems and to secure them, we need to ensure that several supporting
technologies have to work together. These include social media technologies, data analytics tech-
nologies, data security technologies, and cloud computing and semantic web technologies. We will
discuss these supporting technologies in Section I.
Section I consists of four chapters: Chapters 2 through 5. Chapter 2 will provide an overview of
the various social networks that have emerged during the past decades. We then select a few net-
