The other option for anonymizing social networks is altering links. Unlike details, there are only
two methods of altering the link structure: adding or removing links. For the same reasons given in
Section 18.3.2, we choose to evaluate the effects of privacy on removing friendship links instead of
adding fake links. Consider Equation 18.3 for determining detail type using friendship links. Also
assume that there are two possible classes for a node, and the true class is C
