38.1 INTRODUCTION
In this chapter, we continue with the discussion of exploratory ideas on social networks/media. In
particular, we will discuss aspects of developing multilevel social networks (MLS/OSNs) follow-
ing along the lines of the denition of multilevel database management systems (MLS/DBMSs)
designed and developed mainly in the 1980s. In an MLS/DBMS, users are cleared at different clear-
ance levels, such as Unclassied, Condential, Secret, and TopSecret. Data is assigned different
sensitivity levels, such as Unclassied, Condential, Secret, and TopSecret (Thuraisingham, 2005).
