It used to be that if you had an earworm, you’d have to hum it to someone else or search for a line of what you thought were the lyrics to figure out the name of the song and artist—but not anymore. There are several apps you can now use specifically to find the name of a song by using your tablet’s microphone and recording a snippet of a song. Sometimes you can even sing a few bars yourself to find the answer.
Figure 21–15 shows one solution, the SoundHound app. Another popular app is Shazam.
