Multiplexed inputs
In instrumentation applications of computers there may
be a number of transducers whose outputs have to be
monitored by the computer with either analysis or con-
trol to follow. A deep space probe, for example, would
have many parameters to monitor and it is hardly feasi-
ble to have a separate computer for each; nor is it even
necessary or desirable to provide separate ADCs for each
input. What is necessary is to make each transducer link
up to the computer in turn. Thus, sampling is seen at
